My total amount of time is 1:10 hr
I choose this amount because i think myself that i can go under this limit. I didn't wan't to take to many time and take away another persons time so that it could be fair. I also want to take my time so that the 6 grader will understand the process of the design cycle. The design cycle isn't to hard to understand but for .
Day1: 20 minutes
Day2: 10 minutes
Day3: 10 minutes
Day4: 15 minutes
day5:  30 minutes

DESIGN BRIEF, DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS & TEST DUE AT END OF PERIOD-by THURSDAY-CUT THIS FROM YOUR FIRST POST AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS
 Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
I am making a project to make a 6 grader to understand the design cycle.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? The requirements for this project is that i have to make it simple for a 6 grader to understand the design cycle .
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your project?
STUDENT SAMPLE!! DO NOT COPY THIS IS AN EXAMPLE!! Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.  For my project I am going to create a Storybook/ Comic Strip that describes the Design Cycle in a very simple way.  I am going to make it so that a 6th grader can comprehend the Design Cycle without getting confused.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?  My assignment must be clear and simple to understand and under 2 minutes.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?  The limitations of this project is the time because 2 minutes is not long enough to be able to thoroughly explain the design cycle.
13. How will you "test" your project?  I will test my project by giving out surveys/ tests to the 6th graders and review how well their answer and responses are.

reflection six week

I am working on a project that helps a 6 grader to understand the design cycle. I think that I will get a 75 or maybe a 80. It all depends on how well I make a 6 grader understand the design cycle with the project I'm going to do. I gave myself a 75-85 because i think I will mention the problem , the revelance ,and investigate the problem to. A 3-4 is what i mostly will go for so i don.t struggle that much. It will better to go for something i can actually get and reach.

flipbook

The rubric is about how it is going to help us grade our self and be honest. The rubric is grading how we did in our project and if we met the goal we wanted. This rubric is for every level 4. We are supposed   grade what we did in our project. We are supposed to make a paragraph. In that paragraph we are typing about what we gave ourself . We have listed backgrounds, characters, text, simplicity, and finally the total. This grader is for the project we are doing to help a 6 grader. I am  helping a 6 grader by doing a school treasure hunt. The treasure hunt shows them the design cycle. The design cycle will show a 6 grader how to use it in a project.
Background(two paragraphs)
The graph shows that I gave myself a 3 because I think i didn't do that well. The rubric is soppouset to help us reflect on ourselves. We need to be honest on grading ourselves. I didn't give myself a higher grade beacuse I think that the school treasure was good enough.
It might help students but not that much. The 6 graders might not find it fun to work with or find it helpful. In the future I will do better. I will show them how to make a design cycle .We can make up our own grading sheet , but we have to be honest. The teacher will check if we are doing the right thing.
The first thing on my grading sheet is background. In my background I gave myself a 3. I gave myself a three because I thing i didn't  do well  on my background . In the future I will do better give more creativity and be more clearly. My work will probably not be understandable to a 6 grader. My background will be better as I go on. I will make a 6 grader understand with my background.

The next thing on my grader is character. I gave myself a 4 for the character. I am giving myself a 4 because I choose to do a school treasure hunt. The school treasure hunt will help a 6 grader understand the design cycle . In character we are supposed to make sure that  we have enough illustrations so that they can understand.

What i did to make a 6 grader understand was that i made a game. The game asks them questions about the design cycle. It asks about the steps,in what the steps are about. The 6 grader will have fun and be educated at the same time. The game will not take along time and will have all the information they need to know.

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? It can help Us in any project in life.
3. How will this project serve my community? It can help the community by making a park or something big to do.
4. How can my learning help my community? They can go around and plan other things when they have a big job do to.
5. How do we live in relation to each other? We communicate with the design cycle.
6. How does this help others? We can take it do work or school.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?Make a 6 grader understand the design cycle.
8. What is the Design Cycle? The processes to make a project organized.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle: We can be more organized,Help us,Project seem better,Have an easier process, Help other understand
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
